Our Story
Ellis Island Productionz (E.I.P) is a music production collective founded in 2017 by Ellis Townsend-El in Chicago. On the production side, currently E.I.P is comprised of producer/vocalist Ellis as well as multi-instrumentalist Pedro Alvarez. Ellis and Pedro, who met living in the same Chicago apartment building, bonded over their mutual musical interests discovering they both had an affinity for hip-hop influenced, classical productions. For fun, the duo spent their time co-playing the grand piano in their building lobby. Onlookers and passersby would often stop to listen en route to their destinations, prompting them to develop their production and compositional skills.
